Santa at the Library & Bement Christmas Parade
Santa visits with children at the Bement Public Library during the annual Christmas Open House, on Saturday Dec. 9, 2000 following the Bement Christmas Parade at 1:00 p.m. Come visit with Santa, and enjoy refreshments at the Bement Public Library, on Illinois State Highway 105 accross from St. Michael's Parish Church. The event is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the Bement Community Council.

Sunday Dinner - Chicken & Noodles
Enjoy a hearty home-cooked Sunday dinner prepared by the ladies of the Bement United Methodist Church. Stop by from 11:30 - 1:30 p.m. on Sunday Dec. 10, 2000, and enjoy chicken and noodles, vegetable, and beverage to fortify you before you head for the Holiday Homes Tour. The comfortable dining room at the Methodist church is located on the South-east corner of the City Park across from the brand new Community Playground.

Holiday Homes Tour
Tour seven lovely homes in the Bement area at the Bement Area Chamber of Commerce Holiday Homes Tour. Advance tickets are just $8 ($10 day of event) Enjoy hot cider and cookies when you pick up your complimentary hot cider, cookies, and Homes Tour Guide Book at Hospitality Headquarters in the Bement United Methodist Church.

The tour runs from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10. It begins at Hospitality Headquarters in the Bement United Methodist Church, at the southeast corner of the Bement City Park off Illinois State Highway 105 Bement is located just 9 miles south of Interstate 72, half-way between Champaign-Urbana and Decatur, 7 miles south of Monticello, Illinois.

Candlelight Open House and Carriage Rides at Historic Bryant Cottage
Bryant Cottage State Historical Site is hosting an open house on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Come tour this charming cottage which was built in 1856, as the home of Bement buisiness man Francis Bryant. Enjoy live music playing vintage Christmas favorites and indulge in complimentary refreshments.

Carriage rides are offered outside the cottage and are free of charge. Bryant Cottage is located just north of the railroad tracks at the corner of State Highway 105 and Wilson Streets, near downtown Bement.
